The first and only film festival providing actors with the opportunity of being seen again and again and again is calling for actors who like a challenge and have a desire to bask in the spotlight.

The Shoot Out Geelong 24-Hour Filmmaking Festival is offering actors an opportunity to show how much they want to be a star - a Shoot Out Shooting Star, that is!

The object of the Shooting Star competition is for actors (16-years and older) to appear in as many films made across the Festival weekend as possible in the 24-hour period. The most ambitious Shooting Star is the one who manages to make a legitimate appearance in the most number of films.

For the 2007 event, the number of registered actors eligible to compete at Shoot Out Geelong will be limited to 10. Registrations of Shooting Stars closes Wednesday 19 September 2007, unless maximum numbers are reached prior.

How it works?
During the 24-hour filming period, directors will be able to contact the actors by phone. If a Shooting Star is asked to appear in a film, the director or producer must verify the legitimacy of the appearance by signing the actor's release form. It's that simple.

The Shooting Star who racks up the most appearances in the 24-hour period will be presented with their prize during the official Shoot Out Geelong Awards and Screening Ceremony on Sunday 23 September 2007.

The Shoot Out Geelong Shooting Star winner will receive a fantastic prize and will get plenty of exposure via K-Rock FM, the official partner of the Shoot Out Geelong Shooting Star competition. K-Rock will follow the progress of the 2007 Shooting Stars from go-to-woah to see who wins the top prize at the end of the Festival.

Click here to download the Shooting Star entry form which must be processed and completed by Wednesday 19 September at 5.00pm. Successful entrants in the Shooting Star will be notified via EMAIL by 6.00pm, and will be contacted by K-Rock shortly to plot the following week's exciting activities.
